"I never liked thermodynamics... Its limitations are so dull, aren't they?”

Born in the vast catacombs of Irk’s robotic smeeteries, Vex is an engineer, physicist, weapons contractor, and former Irken Invader. In the 287 years of his life, he has traveled the galaxy with the military, the Irken Science Program, and, more recently, every so often with a group of scattered compatriots.

As the inventor and contractor for large amounts of technology, Vex is well known throughout the empire, despite his reclusive attitude towards society.

Before Invading

Vex smeet

Vex as a newborn smeet.

Vex began life in precisely the same conditions as every other Irken, born in the vast system of smeeteries under the surface of Irk. After his standard military training courses, Vex was deployed as a foot soldier in an Irken Elite battalion led by the prestigious Commander Thresh. Vex served for two decades as an Irken Elite before a severe face laceration caused him to fall unconscious from blood loss. The injury landed him in a medical station, and at this station, Vex made a full recovery save for the characteristic scar over his left eye, which reveals very little about the severity of his initial injury. Vex never discusses the injury, and rarely talks about his military history whatsoever.

Aboard the medical space station, Vex took a mandatory intelligence test, as is protocol following a head-based trauma. Vex proved to have an incredibly high IQ, so high that an Irken Control Brain made the decision to have him transferred forcibly to a laboratory on the allied Planet Vort to work as a scientist. Vex consented happily and began his career as a scientist, now bearing the scars of war.

Vex’s presence in the scientific community was almost immediately influential. After a failed attempt at a time machine prototype worked on with Invader Vax, another Irken Scientist, Vex was able to glimpse and gather a sample of a fourth-dimensional molecular base, referred to by mathematicians as the theoretical particle “Tesseract.” This substance was immediately revolutionary, and, with several lengthy patent processes, brought Vex fame within the Irken Empire. With the substance, he was able to create extraordinary technologies with the potential to warp spacetime at will. His first creation was a Tesseract-assisted engine system used in a vast array of Irken starships, including the armada flagship, The Massive. These early engines were unreliable and improved over time, but due to the relative inability of Vex’s workplace on Vort, he could not improve his work there any longer.

Due to his legal ownership of the Tesseract fuel used in the Armada, Vex had enormous bargaining power, enough to allow him to escape the forced work environment of the Irken Science and Research Program conglomerate and start his own individual company, which had rarely been achieved in the field of Irken scientific work. Vex Laboratories, his engineering company, is an individually owned venture Vex began after his service on Vort. Currently the company supplies the Empire with Tesseract fuels, which comprise the majority of its sales, but also with weaponry and battlefield equipment. With advances in Tesseract technologies, many of these weapons rely on this fuel to create incredibly deadly projectiles capable of disintegrating nearly any substance.

Many smaller projects have also been created in Vex's laboratory, but most of these are limited in their production and are not commercially available. This includes a lot of Vex's personal equipment, such as his ship and armor.

As an Invader

CAUTION: INFORMATION PAST THIS POINT MAY BE CONFLICTING. REVISIONS ARE IN PROGRESS

After working reclusively on his space station laboratory for decades, Vex was called back into action by the Empire, urging him to serve as an Irken Invader during Operation Impending Doom II. He was armed shortly thereafter with a prototype SIR Unit and was briefed in secrecy about his mission, which was related to sets of his Tesseract engine plans that were still on Vort and other planets in its solar system. Vex set to work modifying his SIR Unit, which he now refers to as VIR.

Vex departed on his mission a month after Operation Impending Doom II began, and spent roughly a half year completing it. The primary concern was that the rather intelligent Vortians would form a powerful resistance against the Irkens, especially since they possessed schematics for most of the ships in the Irken Armada, as well as Vex’s engine designs. Vex, as a scientist, was sent on this mission to ensure the safe elimination of Vortian data files.

Rarely have two Irken Invaders operated in such close proximity, as Invader Larb was officially assigned to invade Vort. As a purely militarily trained Irken, several Control Brains determined that assigning Vex to purge sensitive information. This assignment took Vex relatively little time, and no official information has been released regarding his invasion.

Following his success, Vex returned to his scientific pursuits at Vex Laboratories. Vex rarely mentions and largely disregards his invasion, as he doesn’t see it as his crowning achievement. Despite this being his excuse, Vex’s disregard of yet another military venture may hide some unpublicized truth about his combat experience

After Invasion

Vex and Vax

Vex and Vax in "The Growing Darkness"

While Vex still maintains the status of Invader, he has finished his career in Operation Impending Doom 2. Vex spends most of his time in his space station inventing, or on a planet of his choosing. He frequently meets with friends, and they do still engage in many perilous activities.

Vex and Jib

Vex and Jib in "The Return of the Meekrob... Again"

One of such activities was Vex's helping of Vax in The Growing Darkness event, where he helped Vax travel to Earth to locate some dark matter. When they were ambushed by Knox, Vex and STARE helped the others escape. Another instance would be Vex's involvement in King Nark's invasion where he led VIR and LIR throughout Nark's palace via wireless instructions and schematics. Vex enjoys these exploits, as it reminds him of his career as an Irken Special Operations Elite. Vex and Jib were been presumed dead after their infiltration of the later destroyed Meekrob base on Planet Dot Dot Dot, and were working undercover to put a stop to the invasion of Z-14 by Nightmare Clod's army.

Personality

IMG 0090

Vex is very outgoing when it comes to his work, and is thoroughly dedicated to it. Having attended years of specialized engineering training, Vex is mainly and engineer, but is also qualified as a physicist, surgeon, astrophysicist, and a Irken Invader, and is dedicated to each one of these as well.

Out of work, Vex can either be found in his study or his laboratory, simply experimenting with new things. He also does enjoy flying, and takes frequent trips in a Flash Runner to exciting solar systems and exciting planets, often those unknown or unmapped by the Empire.

Vex is a bit narcissistic, but is nonetheless willing to help his friends with most issues they have, which often lands him in dangerous or odd situations. Because of his natural curiosity and need for discovery, Vex does sometimes enjoy these adventures and explorations.

Relationships

  • VIR- As Vex's SIR unit, VIR is a loyal ally and one of Vex's greatest tools both in battle and in the laboratory.
  • Invader Vax- Vex and Vax are friends, and Vex often contacts him when in need of assistance. They have worked together quite often, but Vex has noticed that Vax has gained an obsession with the paranormal, and keeps a watchful eye on Vax, fearing that he might one day become like Knox, Vex's and Vax's predecessor.
  • Invader Plazatrax- Vex sees Plazatrax as a helpful ally, with his databanks always filled with information useful to Vex's various projects. They are friends.
  • Nightmare Vex- Vex sees his Nightmare counterpart as either a great ally or a dangerous enemy, depending on the situation at hand. As his exact mental and physical equal, Vex is not intimidated by him.
  • Invader Zim- Vex is amused by Zim's various blunders, but despises him for destroying his lab on Vort when Zim created an Infinite Energy Absorbing Blob during his training. Vex is often surprised by Zim's apparent inability to stay hidden. During Vex's mission to Earth, he had to brainwash an entire theatre that Zim crashed into in a giant metal pig.
  • Invader Mez- Vex and Mez have quite a bit in common. As Mez once pointed out, "Great minds think alike!" They assist each other with many different experiments and missions and are good friends.
  • Invader Jib- Vex is good friends with Jib. Vex often helps Jib update and refine his equipment. Vex helped design Jib's mechanical eye and arm.
  • Invader Zyl- Vex knows Zyl only as a customer, but now knows that he is Jib's mortal enemy. This fact leads Vex to like him less.
  • Invader Xav- Vex and Xav share interests in the scientific world, and are good friends. Vex, Xav, and Vax often meet at the nearest good Irken Coffee house to discuss their scientific discoveries.
  • Commander Thresh- Vex and Thresh are good friends. They have worked together on many missions, but first met of Vort, where Thresh was assigned to investigate and destroy a large blob creature that killed Almighty Tallest Miyuki.
  • Invader Ark- Vex has a sibling-like relationship with Ark, and during his mentoring of Ark as an engineer on Vort, he nicknamed her "little sister."
  • Plixx- Vex and his Technician Plixx have worked together for years, and are good friends, seeing as they both enjoy the fascinating world of science. Vex is Plixx's boss, but Plixx is more like an apprentice to Vex.
  • Irken Elite Crux- Vex supplies Crux with weapons and equipment, and admires his mental and physical prowess. Crux reminds Vex of his younger self. They are friends.
  • Graf- Vex is Graf's employer, and is grateful of Graf's prolonged service with him.
  • Vira- Vex is strongly opposed to Vira's operations against Irken troops and citizens, knowing that she has killed almost a hundred of her own species.
  • Hakk- Hakk and Vex are enemies. They have tried to kill each other on a number of occasions, but they are fairly evenly matched. Vex is currently unaware of Hakk's operations.
  • Lurk- Vex thinks that Lurk is quite eccentric, but they are friends nevertheless. Vex does not know about Lurk's mission to Robloxia, however, so doesn't judge him on any events that may have happened there.
  • LIR- Vex thinks LIR is actually quite annoying, but will tolerate him because of his fighting abilities and help while on missions.

Facts of Doom

Vexresisty

Vex Infiltrating the Resisty!

Vex despises the publicized nature of Operation Impending Doom Two, believing that compromising information is much more likely to leak.

Because of his importance, the Tallest granted him permission to install a bioelectricity manipulator into VIR.

Vex occasionally formulates plans to overthrow the tyrannical control brains and regain real Irken leadership for the Empire.

Despite Vex not being all that much older than Zim, he must disguise himself as an adult Human on Earth, and a non-Vortian refugee when in the Vortian system.

Vex invented advancements in transmission equipment that allows any interstellar transmissions to travel past the speed of light, allowing for long distance calls throughout the galaxy while traveling near the speed of light. This technology resides inside all modern pieces of Irken equipment, including The Massive and all main control brains.

Vex owns a PAK-less clone of himself for an organ donor if he is ever severely injured. The clone is hooked up to a life support system to keep it alive.

Vex owns a battle cruiser called the Plague Runner and is a licensed fleet commander. He has a crew of highly trained pilots and gunners aboard the ship with him at all times.

Vex's synthesized skin disguise makes him impervious to dangerous Earthly substances like heavy-ion water and meat.

As one of the main military equipment providers for the Irken Empire, Vex either has invented or can easily get his hands on equipment and weapons needed for each mission he completes.
